Must-See Attractions in Glasgow, Scotland

Royal Exchange Square

Royal Exchange Square

Scotland is a fantastic country laden with history. Glasgow, one of its most famous cities, is a cultural hotspot for Scots and tourists alike, and it's one of the most visited places in Europe let alone the UK. From shipbuilding and engineering to finance, art and music, Glasgow is known for many things, and it has managed to keep millions of tourists entertained for decades. Surrounded by peaceful suburbs and lush landscapes, the city itself is home to galleries, pubs, museums, cathedrals, shopping centres and football stadiums. If you enjoy architecture then there's more than enough of that to go around too! Let's take a look at some of the must see attractions in Glasgow this year.

Glasgow City Tour

No matter what city you visit, there's nothing better than seeing your surroundings from the top of an open-top tour bus - especially with an educational guide on the microphone! Glasgow is a stunning city, and it offers a number of architectural wonders, many of which can be seen on a single day city tour. Furthermore, you can include even more attraction on a two day tour, and it won't matter what country you're from either, as there are guides who speak a variety of languages on your bus. The short tour takes around two hours to complete, however you're free to get off any time you like and explore the city for yourself.

Glasgow Science Centre

The Glasgow Science Centre is one of the most visited attractions in the city, and there's more than enough here to keep your children entertained. Not only will you be able to shake hands with yourself, or even become a surgeon, but there loads of exhibits that will simply blow your mind. Delving into the human body, as well as the latest technological innovations in the world today, you'll be shown what life on earth will be like in 500 years, as well as what it was like 5,000 years ago. You can easily spend an entire day at the Glasgow Science Museum, so make sure you pack a lunch with you to save money.

The Sea Life Aquarium at Loch Lomond

The area of Loch Lomond is rich with history and beauty, however sometimes those elements can get a little boring for kids. If you feel your children's attention starting to slip whilst on holiday in Glasgow, then why not take them to Loch Lomond's Sea life Aquarium! With hundreds of sea creatures everywhere you turn, your kids will be instantly transported to an underwater world. Furthermore, there are a number of educational exhibitions for your little ones to wrap their heads around too. http://www.autoeurope.com/go/car-rental/uk/ offer some great deals on car rental, so make sure you check out the site when holidaying in Scotland this year.

Prince's Square

If you're travelling to Glasgow for the first time, then one of the best places to begin your journey is Prince's Square. Located in the heart of the city, you'll be able to check out all the traditional Scottish markets, boutiques, outlets and luxury stores. There are also lots of restaurants in this square too, as well as tourist information which is always handy.
